I scheduled a service visit to see if there is a software update that might fix this buggy condition as described above as warranty will expire this coming March of 2019. Return, open the door, sit down, close the door plug the phone in and usually will sync up to projection when starting the car. The fix is again is to turn off the car, open the door, close the door and walk away with the fob for about 50FT. In rare circumstances it won't sync to projection at all. The station presets on the display are frozen and the radio band selection icon is frozen as well.

With a frozen audio condition in my case with a 2017 Volt made in March of 2016, the audio level will be frozen at where it was set from the previous drive. With the latest version of CarPlay, when I start out streaming audio via BT and then connect the USB cable that initiates CarPlay the audio program will be automatically paused until I press play within the CarPlay Now Playing screen. I have not spent much time using CarPlay since upgrading to iOS 12 other than to verify that I can access Waze and Google Maps from CarPlay. Worst case I will have to turn off BT on the iPhone and turn it back on. If I switch between audio inputs such as iPhone and FM the BT audio will eventually connect and start playing. Occasionally the BT audio will not connect right away. If not, it usually means I had some other app open on the iPhone when I last opened the iPhone.īefore I shut down the Volt I usually pause the Amazon Music selection but this does not seem to make a difference. The Amazon Music will usually start playing automatically via BT within a few seconds of starting the Volt. I am usually streaming Amazon Music using the Volt's WiFi and unlimited data plan.
